Who is Stone Analytics?
I am happy to introduce myself, Christy Langston, as founder and principal consultant at Stone Analytics, LLC. With this venture I am hoping to be able to tap into my satisfaction and excitement for the many different types of data work I have in my background.
No two people have the same path; seeing someone’s unique progression has always been of interest to me and helps me to understand them. Having parents who owned a business meant that I have been working in some capacity from a young age. I have always had a passion for science and was able to complete 6 science classes in high school. While earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and American Politics from Bucknell University, I maintained my interests in health, biology, and genetics.
During the first year of my job at a private university, I had the good fortune of volunteering for a large-scale data conversion project run by the IT department. I enjoyed the nature of the work we were doing and the collaboration of the team doing it; within the year, I was also working full-time in the IT administrative computing department, learning about data structures, querying, reporting, and database administration.
I fell in love with SQL and the more advanced ways I could organize, update, and manage the available data. Wondering if that knowledge of how databases worked could translate to and help me learn data in a new industry, I made a jump to a more programming-heavy, and administration-light, role at an outsourcing firm in the insurance industry. Building databases and data processes from the ground up, I became proficient at ETL, integrations, stored procedures, and agile methodology. Each new capability mastered grew my passion for how data can be harnessed to transform an organization.
Knowing this was where I wanted to spend my career, I got my Master of Information Systems Management at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College, concentrating on data, analytics, and business intelligence. After a summer spent in San Francisco at Salesforce building a reporting suite for their technical support team, I graduated and relocated to the greater New York metro area and joined the Management Rotation Program at Boehringer Ingelheim.
In the rotation program, I was exposed to so many different facets of the pharmaceutical industry, from brand marketing, analytics, market research, and competitive intelligence to compliance, legal, and Sunshine / EFPIA reporting. I came off-program in an analytics role supporting the Type 2 Diabetes therapeutic area, focused on targeting and segmentation as well as non-personal promotion marketing mix and effectiveness. From there, I moved into the Market Access organization, managing analytics and modeling for the Pricing and Contracts team; while supporting the global launch modeling, local long-term forecasts and the Finance gross-to-net processes, I also modeled legislative impacts for the many iterations of what eventually became the Inflation Reduction Act.
Harnessing that experience quantifying public policy impacts and my political science background, I joined ADVI Health on the Policy and Reimbursement group to broaden the reach and impact of my legislative impact modeling. There I worked on topics such as the Medicaid cap removal, copay maximizers and accelerators, and building questionnaires and performing market shaping market research interviews. The Inflation Reduction Act continued to be a topic of consideration, for which I built government negotiation impact estimation models, monitored legal challenges, and contributed to the only product evaluation model in the market that successfully predicted all ten of the brands selected for the IPAY2026 negotiation round.
Throughout my career, each move has been built on the foundation of capabilities and knowledge I have acquired to that point. The balance of foundational understanding is also essential to businesses as they seek to make cogent, data-informed decisions that will support their corporate goals. In this endeavor I look forward to utilizing a broad range of my experience, from my strategic analytics and modeling acumen to the technical data expertise, to help you reach your objectives and sell your ideas within your company.
